This form must be filled out for each person in family. Completing this form will sign the applicant up to be a part of Sumter County Outdoor Weather Siren notification system. The system has an expected roll out date of July 1, 2014.
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Award
On October 18, 2010, the Sumter County Emergency Management Agency received a grant from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) totaling $36,262 under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. This grant will be used to update the Sumter County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan to meet the federal requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.

On October 28, 2010, the Sumter County Emergency Management Agency Citizen Corp Program (CCP) received a grant from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) totaling $4,872.00 to enhance the departments capabilities in citizen preparedness and response. This grant will be used for initial training and the purchase of equipment for CERT members.
The goal of the Sumter County CERT Team is to help prepare the citizens of Sumter County for any type of disaster. It trains it’s members to not only help themselves, but also to assist their neighbors and first responders in the event of an emergency.
