[ARCHIVED] Vegetation Maintenance Program

NOTICE

Important announcement from the Sumter County Board of Commissioners
The Sumter County Board of Commissioners has adopted a Vegetation Maintenance Program to better control the growth of grass and weeds along the County’s paved road right of way.
In addition to mowing, herbicide will be applied to inhibit growth and remove unwanted grasses and weeds.
The Sumter County Board of Commissioners will establish a No Spray List for citizens who do not want herbicide spraying to occur on frontage of their property.
Persons that wish to register for the No Spray List must register in person at the office of the Board of Commissioners at 500 West Lamar Street or the office of Public Works at 331 McMath Mill Road no later than May 1, 2016. If you are unable to register in person due to disability, please contact Tawanna Reese at (229) 928-4576.
Areas on the no spray list will only be mowed during two prescribed mowing cycles each year as established by the Vegetation Maintenance Program.
