HR also ensures compliancee with employment laws and policies while promoting a fair and productive work environment.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Human Resources Department is to serve as a strategic partner with all organizational stakeholders to support the vision of the Sumter County Board of Commissioners. HR is to attract, develop, and retain a highly qualified workforce committed to serving the community with integrity and professionalism.
E-Verify Program
Sumter County Board of Commissioners participates in the E-Verify Program. This internet based system allows businesses to determine the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. Sumter County identification number is 68854. The date of authorization is November 20, 2007 (as required by O.C.G.A. Section 13-10-91(a), as amended)

The Employee Self-Service (ESS) is a digital platform that allows employees to access and manage their personal work-related information without relying on HR personnel. It enables employees to update personal details, view payroll and tax informatoin, and access company policies. ESS enhances efficiency, reduces administrative workload for HR, and improves employee engagement.
